South Africa. The death of a marriage of Polish doctors in Cape Town. New information
« With deep sadness, Royal Cape Yacht Club confirms the tragic incident that occurred between the evening of May 20 and early May 21, 2025. A deceased older marriage of long -term club members was found in the waters adjacent to the RCYC » – it was written in the Royal Cape Yacht Club statement, to which Polish doctors belonged. Medics appeared in the port every year and rested on their yacht.

A colleague from the club and a close friend of the couple came to welcome them on board the ship and discovered the woman’s body in the water. The head of Marina was immediately alerted, and he in turn contacted the South African police
– the club informed.
It was added that after the initial control of Łódź, all personal items and mobile phones were found, which prompted to search the area wider. The man’s body was later found in the waters of the marina.
Local media talked to people who knew the Polish couple. They do not want to believe in the most likely official version that one of the spouses fell out of the yacht and the other threw themselves at the rescue. Friends emphasize that doctors were able to swim perfectly and it is hard to believe that they would both die in port waters. For now, it is known that the autopsy has shown that the reason for the death of both was drowning. The question is how it happened.

The CEO of RCYC TONI Mainprize expressed the club’s regret: « We are devastated by this tragic loss. The couple were loyal members of the club since 2010. The spouses visited us annually to maintain their boats. They had a special permit for staying on board. We will be very short of their presence in our community. »
Family members went alerted about the tragedy. On Saturday, May 31, a ceremony commemorating the dead was held there.
