« Son » needed help. The cheater used the trust of the 73-year-old

The day before fraud, the woman received a message from an unknown number asking for contact through the messenger. She was convinced that she corresponds to her son, who informed her that his phone had fallen into the toilet and had a new number. The fraudster asked the senior for money to pay overdue bills, and the woman, believing in this story, made three transfers to the indicated account.

Contact with the alleged son broke off after making transfers. It wasn’t until the next day that the 73-year-old realized that she fell victim to a cheater when during a conversation with her son’s partner she learned that the whole story was untrue. The woman reported the case to the police, which is now investigating.
