‘Sommerdahl’ star has passed away: only 61 years old

Actor, stunt choreographer and teacher Søren Poppel is dead, just 61 years old.
The news was published by the Danish Actors’ Association, which in a Facebook post confirms his passing.
For decades, Søren Poppel had made his mark on both the stage and the screen.
With roles in popular TV series such as ‘Crime II’, ‘Deception’ and ‘Sommerdahl’ he reached broadly in the Danish living rooms, while at the same time maintaining a deep anchoring in the theater world.
Hard fighting against the cancer
Private formed Søren Poppel couple with actor and writer Trine Appel.
They got married in 2010 and over the years had a close and supportive relationship – even when the disease hit.
In an interview with Christian newspaper Back in 2022, Trine Appel openly talked about how their lives changed drastically during the corona shutdown when Søren was suddenly affected by cancer.
