Rafał J. was the head of the animal shelter in Kościerzyna. He was accused of bullying animals with particular cruelty.
The quadrupeds, which were under his care, was to scare, kick, beat on his head. He used for this, among others broom and shovel shaft. He also did not allow the help of bitten and wounded animals.
– According to the prosecutor’s office, the man was to isolate animals in a special room, condemned to a multi -day waiting for a veterinarian’s visit, without pain relief and preventing diagnosis of animals for money collected by volunteers, exposing the life and health of animals – said in December 2023, Prosecutor Grażyna Wawryniuk said.

During the trial, the court changed the qualification of the act. It has not been taken into account that bullying occurred with particular cruelty. The accused himself claimed that he had fallen victim to the plot and that he was talked and the witnesses committed lies during the trial.
In addition to eight months of social work, the former manager was covered by a five -year ban on having animals and working with them. He must also pay 5,000 for the shelter in Kościerzyna.
