Football shirt Friday is now the biggest collection day in favor of the Children's Cancer Foundation, and it shows how strong the community is. says Marianne Benzon Nielsen, director of the Children's Cancer Foundation.
What is football jersey?
Football Shirt Friday is Danske Spils and the Children's Cancer Foundation's annual collection in favor of children with cancer, and it is always on the first Friday of March – the next football jersey Friday is held 6 March 2026.
Danske Spil is the initiator of the project and has developed football jersey Friday in favor of and together with the Children's Cancer Foundation. When the Danes pull the shirt on football jersey Friday, they help to focus on and support cancer -affected children and their families through the perhaps hardest time of their lives.
In Denmark, approx. 200 children each year cancer, and up to 600 are in treatment for child cancer annually. Fortunately, 6 out of 7 children today survive, among other things, thanks to collections such as a football jersey Friday, and child cancer is still the medical illness that most children over 1 year die.
