BRATISLAVA. Meteorologists recorded on Saturday in Slovakia the first tropical day in 2025. The temperature reached a level of 30 degrees Celsius or more.

The highest was in Šaštín and in Štrkovec, where it was 30.5 degrees Celsius. Thirty degrees also measured Moravian St. John, Slovak Grob and Gabčíkovo.

« It is a relatively early onset of tropical values, it is more common in the second half of May or early June. The last time we measured more than 30 degrees Celsius in early May, it was in 2018.

In the districts, a sharp downpour can reach an intensity of 30 to 40 millimeters in 30 minutes. Wind impacts can have a speed of 70 to 110 kilometers per hour. Hapes are also expected.

The second level warnings in some districts are valid until 5 pm, in others until 6 pm. First level warnings are currently valid for the whole of Slovakia by midnight.

In the districts of Bardejov, Svidník, Stropkov, Medzilaborce, Humenné and Vranov nad Topľou there is a stinged flood. Meteorologists have therefore issued a second -level hydrological alert for the upper part of the Bodrog River Basin with preliminary validity until 6 pm, in some districts until 7pm.

Due to the tidal collisions during storms, meteorologists assume a transient significant local rise in water levels, especially on small streams.

Strong storms threaten on Sunday

Storm alerts should also be paid in some districts of Slovakia on Sundays, especially in the afternoon.

Meteorologists declared first -level warnings for the entire Košice and Prešov regions, as well as for most districts of the Banská Bystrica region.

The storms may be associated with a sharp downpour and could spill 20 to 30 millimeters of precipitation within half an hour. It is also necessary to count on the wind with speed in impacts up to 85 kilometers per hour and with hail.
