Skor moves after years of dispute
The dart and restaurant Skor in downtown Reykjavik will move its operations from Kolastræti, where there have been great controversy in recent years about the operations due to noise that residents in neighboring apartments have complained.
Flexible turnaround hours are expected than is currently the case, but recently the ruling committee came to the decision on reduced slots was allowed and the place could only be open until ten o’clock in the evening from Sundays to Thursday to eleven on Fridays and Saturdays.
An announcement from the management company Klik states that the new place will be a short distance from the current location, or at Hafnarstræti 18. It is the house that is closest to the old bus house, where there is now tea and coffee and high voltage at Lækjartorg. Extensive improvements were made to the house in 2018, but then there had been the entertainment venue D10 (Dufnahólar 10) and the Pizza Royal restaurant.
Negotiate with the same real estate company
The announcement states that a new long -term lease has been signed with the real estate company at home, which is the same company and has rented the current facilities since opening in 2021.
The management company says that in the new premises there will be self -contained pill cards, restaurants and facilities for singing for private parties.
Goodbye in greeting
The new site’s operating license is expected to have a flexible closing time, but there are no apartments in the immediate vicinity of the new place. « However, experience has taught us that nothing is given in that regard, » says the operational company.
The operating company also sends a greeting to the partners and neighbors in the announcement, but the ambiguity will go there. « We also send our best regards to partners, suppliers, homeowners, regulators and neighbors – each has made our stay unforgettable in his own way. We look forward to continuing cooperation on a new location. »
Prolonged disputes with neighbors
As mentioned earlier, there has been a challenge with their neighbors in Kollagata because of the operation. With the decision of the Reykjavik Health Authority, the site was denied for longer slots, but the place had requested to open until one o’clock after midnight on weekends and until eleven on weekdays. Last month, the Environment and Natural Resources Appeals Committee rejected this decision.
The reason for neighbors’ complaints is that noise from the site is high and the measurements of the Health Authority have shown that it is above the boundaries of well -being.
However, the operators of scores have suggested that the sound survey of the Health Authority was not in accordance with international recognized standards. However, the Appeals Committee did not consider itself to be invalidated to invalidate such measurements.
