Sixth suspect arrested in Spikingschandaal on Kortrijkse Stationsbuurt (Kortrijk)

In the investigation into the spiking scandal in Kortrijk, a sixth suspect was arrested. It is a 34-year-old man who was released after interrogation.

The Kortrijk police already picked up five men last week, In the context of an investigation after a number of women’s complaints about spiking. It concerned three bartenders, and two customers of their cafés. The women stated that they suddenly woke up after going out in the station area, and no longer remembered what had happened.
The court believes that between December 2021 and December 2024 a gang was working in the Kortrijk Stationsbuurt, which secretly put Ketamine in the glass of women. After they were stunned, the women were assaulted. More than 41 victims fell.
Two bartenders: ID (32) from Café Patron, and GH (27) from Café de Verfde Vogel were arrested. Although they keep their innocence standing, In the meantime, their arrest was already extended by the council chamber. The two are suspected of rape, assault and intentional administration of harmful substances, resulting in illness or disability. The three other suspects were released again on Wednesday 26 October after interrogation.
Sixth Suspect
That is also what happened to the sixth suspect. The 34-year-old man from Kortrijk was arrested on Thursday morning at his home in Kortrijk by the police. The man was interrogated as a suspect, but afterwards he was not brought before the investigating judge. He was allowed back home.(cell)
