A total of six of the seven police officers suspected of serious offenses against the general security of the fire in Kocani, for which the prosecution today requested precautionary measures at the Basic Criminal Court Skopje.

Criminal confirms that they have been brought before a pre -trial judge, who will have to decide on the prosecution’s request for precautionary measures.

Prosecutors opened an investigation today against ten police officers on the fire in Kocani. Seven suspects are proposed to take precautionary measures, while the other three suspects, the prosecution said, were secured in the pre -trial procedure.

« In this particular case, there is a reasonable suspicion that the suspects in the period from 7 December 2012 to January 21, 2022, as accomplishers, committed a crime of serious offenses against general security, » the National Public Prosecutor’s Office said.

According to the description contained in the order for conducting an investigation, the suspects as officials employed by the SIA Stip and the UN PS Kocani, in the above -mentioned period of time, as accomplishers, did not comply with the regulations on protection measures – did not perform a complete and detailed verification in relation to the issuance of a positive consent.

The issuance of the consent all allowed the legal entity to acquire a license to perform a catering activity, although it did not meet the predicted conditions.

The specialized department for the prosecution of crimes committed by people with police government and prison police, it is added, continuing pre -trial actions to detect new persons involved in the case.

Some of the prosecutors acting in the case of the fire at the Kocani discotheque « Pulse », as well as the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Macedonia, held today a meeting with experts from several areas to plan and coordinate the following evidence provision activities – the prosecution informed.

-Requests are issued for additional checks, analyzes and forensic orders of circumstances that examine and determine the experts. In addition, by this point, orders have been issued for data analysis of over 70 mobile phones and 30 desktop and laptop computers for the purpose of the procedure.

Although the on -site inspections are formally completed, the experienced persons who conduct investigations and analysis for the needs of the procedure, on the order of the Public Prosecutor, also take additional actions to thoroughly check and perceive all the circumstances of the fire. For this purpose, the statement is entered, the facility is still secured and the location is being examined in detail.

Earlier today, a public prosecutor from the specialized department for the prosecution of crimes committed by people with police government and prison police, acting on the criminal charges filed by the Ministry of Interior, issued an order to conduct an investigation against ten police officers for the fire in Kocani.
