Six Albanians suspected fifty burglaries in France and Belgium

Six suspected members of an Albanian criminal network, including the leader, were suspected for around fifty burglaries in luxury homes and in well -known people in France and Belgium. The French Gendarmerie announced this on Sunday.

It is about men and women with Albanian nationality. They are suspected of the theft of goods worth more than a million euros.
The arrests took place in two waves: two suspected members of the network with the name 'Nikla', were arrested in Luxembourg on January 20, « on the basis of European arrest trips by the court of Reims, » said the Gendarmerie in a press release. Five others were taken into custody on Tuesday near Reims. Of them, four were put in suspicion on Friday.
More than 49 burglaries
The suspected leader of the gang, who is also suspected of a murder attempt, was arrested on January 20. He had escaped from prison in Treviso, Italy, and was sought by Interpol in June 2022.
He was identified on the basis of his DNA, originating from more than 30 burglaries between June 2022 and September 2024, mainly in the Grand Est region, which borders Belgium, and in the Paris region, according to the Gendarmerie.
The seizures during the various house searches are estimated at more than 650,000 euros, including stolen jewelry, very valuable watches, luxury leather goods, cash and vehicles, according to the Gendarmerie. « In total, more than 49 burglaries can be attributed to them, with losses of more than a million euros, » it sounds.
According to a source close to the investigation, there are business leaders from the Reims and football players.
