Simultaneous protests against excessive tourism occurred in southern Europe
Thousands of people went to the streets of several cities in Southern Europe on Sunday to protest against excessive tourism.

In Barcelona protesters merged with groups in Portugal and Italyarguing that uncontrolled tourism leads to a rapid increase in housing prices and forces people to leave their areas.
« Your vocabulary is my unhappiness, » the protesters on the streets of Barcelona were chanting, holding posters with slogans « Mass tourism kills the city » and « their greed brings us a ruin. »

The city authorities reported that about 600 people joined the demonstration, and some of them fired from water guns, lit checkers with colored smoke and pasted shops and hotels stickers with the inscription « Self -Defense District, Tourists, Tourists, ».
Similar demonstrations took place in other regions of Spain, including Ibica, Malase, Palma de Major, San Sebastian and Granada.
Protests in Italy have occurred in cities such as Genoa, Naples, Palermo, Milan and Venice, where locals oppose the construction of two hotels that will add about 1,500 new beds to the city.
