Simion demanded cancellation of Romania’s presidential election

Nationalist George Simion has called for the cancellation of the Sunday elections for President of Romanians, which he lost with a big difference, saying he would appeal to the Constitutional Court. Although he calmly acknowledged his defeat in the early hours of Monday, he now says he has avoided « bloodshed on Sunday »

According to him, his Aur party would challenge the validation of the election of Nikushor Dan for exactly the same reasons why the CEC canceled the 2024 election when Kalin George was ranked first. Now Aur claims that the repetition of the presidential election was tainted by foreign intervention.

Simion acknowledged his defeat in the election

After the law that « we will not leave things as they are », he threatens everyone who did not vote for him: « All who consciously, from malice, for money or for other reasons, stood on my candidate side will not be sorry.

He accused Moldova of having allocated EUR 100 million for electoral tourism and buying votes among Bessarabian Romanians. However, the amount is impressive for the modest capabilities of the authorities in Chisinau. Simion adds that « no calculations in the world can show us that over 11,500,000 Romanians have voted, » but it says that it has a debt to the supported Sun 5 million of them.

He also accused France of intervention, but did not specify a specific fact, but called on to be heard by Pavel Durov, the co -founder and head of the Telegram application. The Russian, living in Dubai, pointed out the head of the French Foreign Intelligence Agency Nicolas Lerner as the Frenchman, who had asked him in the spring to block conservative voices in Romania.

Simion speaks of a « huge manipulation mechanism triggered by the Cybernetics Directorate, led by Gen. Anton Rog and other internal and external services » and cites in its favor the preliminary conclusions of the OSCE mission to hold elections, but its document does not say in whose benefit there was a problem with social media. The Monday message says:

« A significant increase in the reported cases of misinformation and non -authentic behavior was observed. Platforms proactively removed some of the online content, but a large part remained available and the transparency of their activities was limited. In turn, the authorities responded publicly to the disinformation and looked at the power of power. The degree of such behavior has a negative impact on public confidence. «

The nationalist also explained why he chose to congratulate Nikushor Dan on the election night: « The reason why, given the numbers of the polling stations, I congratulated Nikushor Dan, was the fact that I love Romania, I love the Romanian people and I never want to see the bloodshed in our country, which would justify the chaos and the seizure. »

Simion has a negligible chance of preventing Dan to take office. The Romanian Constitutional Court will be gathered tomorrow, May 21, to rule on a complaint filed on May 19 on the results of the presidential election. The Result Validation meeting is scheduled for Thursday.

After this meeting, Nikushor Dan may last Iletva and this is expected to happen on Monday, May 26, at a solemn joint meeting of the two chambers of parliament.
