Siljanovska-Davkova: We are working on the formation of Diaspora Council as an institutional form of cooperation

President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova presented the recognition, which in cooperation with Macedonia 2025 is awarded to prominent diaspora figures for their contribution to economic development, health, social sphere, education, science, culture and other areas.

Evaluating Macedonia’s work 2025 as unifying, fruitful, successful and useful, she informed about the process of forming a diaspora council as an institutional form of cooperation and constant communication with the diaspora, which will enable its integration into Macedonian affairs.

Dr. Svetlana Mojsov, a world-renowned professor at Rockefeller University in New York, was recognized for exceptional scientific work, which left a deep and lasting mark on modern medicine.

The humanitarian association « Lecker AS, BL » received recognition for the excellent support and medical assistance. (Letzcare ASBL) from Luxembourg, and his president Safet Alili received the award.

For the president, humanity and solidarity are embedded in our code and crowned with the life story and work of Mother Teresa. « She expects, » she said, « this recognition to inspire many other ours of making human acts, especially important for the most vulnerable fellow citizens. »

Siljanovska-Davkova noted that giving recognition of diaspora persons and organizations is an ethical and moral act of evaluating good works and proving the unbreakable unity with them.

At the meeting with the Board of Directors, after the successful and emotional stories of top businessmen and prominent diaspora representatives, the importance of nurturing and transmitting a sense of belonging from generation to generation, as necessary in preserving the national identity, was emphasized.

According to a statement from the President’s Cabinet, she noted that with « Macedonia 2025 » we share the same vision: to become a competitive regional economic player, to have energy security, to be a state with a successful educational and scientific system, related to artificial intelligence and digitalization, to build an environmental state and a state of culture.

Referring to the world and European ambience of uncertainty of all kinds, from peace to environmentally friendly, it emphasized the need for cooperation, unity and strengthening the diaspora relations in all spheres, integrating it into Macedonian society.
