Siljanovska Davkova: It is not a problem to talk to Zeljazkov, to express European creativity
President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said today that although it is a rule to have a meeting with her homologue it is not a problem to talk to Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zeljazkov at the NATO Summit in The Hague as it has been confirmed that her Bulgarian counterpart, President Rumen Radev, is not coming to The Hague.
-I talked to Mr. Antonio Costa about a possible meeting, his proposal. In the meantime I don’t know, I’ll be there if my turn is. Otherwise, it is known that it is okay to talk to the homologist, but there is no problem but it does not depend on me but depends on our neighbors. Of course we are so close that we could also talk nearby, but the proposal came from Mr. Antonio and now when I was in Nice, Mr. Radev will not come to the NATO summit, but Zeljazkov will come – says Siljanovska Davkova.
Asked whether a meeting with Zeljazkov was confirmed, Siljanovska Davkova pointed out that the meeting was proposed by the President of the European Council and the confirmation should come.
-We have not suggested to Mr. Zeljazkov to be confirmed but that, if it is proposed by the European side, ie by the President of the European Council, it should come. Otherwise I’m ready to talk to Mr. Radev. We have seen each other several times, he knows mine, or our national views, knows Mr. Antonio, and others know. I always say that the time can come to the evidence of European creativity, which we have seen several times, here in this case because of the good of the region and because of perhaps the most important process at the moment European – the process of enlargement – said Siljanovska Davkova.
Prime Minister Christian Mickoski informed yesterday that he will not attend the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague, and that President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova will leave. Regarding the announcements by the Bulgarian side that instead of their president Radev will attend Prime Minister Zeljazkov, he stressed that if there is any initiative to meet between the Macedonian President and the Bulgarian Prime Minister it should be accepted to show proactivity and, he says, to cross the arguments. He also announced that he would request a meeting with the president.
« If there is any initiative to meet the president-prime minister level it should be accepted no matter what I will not be there, it is my attitude and I am convinced that it will be the attitude of the president. We have to be proactive and show that it is not what we are talking about, to show that several hundred of our citizens, who say that Bulgarian is their native language, that this is not the problem, but there is a much bigger problem, it is a policy of decades, it is a strategy that has been written, it has been spoken, it has been spoken. Unfortunately there were such in the last government – the prime minister said.
Prime Minister Mickoski said in a statement to the media earlier this week that the essence of the problem is « an attempt by an engineering, to create a new Macedonian nation, which is the result of a decision by the Comintern after ’45 of the last century and that that new Macedonian nation is using a new Macedonian language, which is becoming an official in the UN. He emphasized that anyone who does not see that this is the essence of the problem is, says either political Analfab or should not be involved in politics and added that former Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani knew this, accepting the French proposal.
In Alsat M.’s visit. Asked if he gives hope the statement of the Foreign Minister of Bulgaria the other day that Sofia guarantees that there will be no new demands and that remains only the constitution as an obstacle, Mickoski said that the same foreign minister said a few months ago that this was just the beginning and that there were still many things to be resolved during the negotiations…
– Now to whom to believe. The same foreign minister two to three months ago or on this one, or to a future, which will also have a different statement for daily political purposes – said Mickoski, adding that the job is very clear and one should not be very politically experienced.
Late last month, Mickoski noted that at the meeting in Skopje with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Calas, among other things, discussed the possible bilateral meeting with the Bulgarian side, about its format, which could attend and where it could be held.
The upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague, as he said then, is a good opportunity for the meeting, would be attended Mark Rutte, as well as SA representatives.
