Eight decades work at the National Institution University Library « St. Clement of Ohrid »-Bitola are a long spiritual journey, a dedicated effort to preserve and enrich the library fund, said President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova in the 80th anniversary.

The president emphasized the deep spiritual and cultural value of the library, describing it as a « fortress of identity » and « cosmos of knowledge ».

Referring to the role of librarians, Siljanovska-Davkova called them « brave guards of the written word » who fought against oblivion, censorship and barbarism throughout history.

She emphasized that despite the progress of technology and digital world, the book remains the foundation of thought and cultural elevation.

The president, as a biblio, shared a personal and emotional story related to her recognition presented to her yesterday – a moment that awakened her memories of the first prize in her childhood, for the « most loyal reader », a recognition that prejudiced her lasting party.

In her speech, she also paid tribute to the work of Goran Stefanovski, emphasizing his ability to describe the spirit of time and open the doors to the essential issues of modern society.

« I am in love with the books, it is a lifelong fatal link between me and the books, » the president said, sending a strong message about the love of reading.

In the end, Siljanovska-Davkova congratulated her jubilee, expressing confidence that the library would continue to be a beacon of knowledge, home to the book and a place where the future is being built through the wisdom of the past.
