Signed Memorandum of Cooperation between ATS Group and Turkish MKE which includes opening a gunfire in the country
The only Macedonian defense industry company ATS Group signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the MKE this afternoon – the largest state -owned company in Turkey’s industry, which includes the opening of a new gun production factory in Macedonia, with joint investment on both sides.
The memorandum was signed by MKE Director General Ilhami Kelesh and the owner and CEO of ATS Group, Jefschet Demirovski. As the signatories pointed out, this cooperation will encourage the activities of the two companies and increase their presence on the international market, especially in Turkey and Macedonia.
The event was attended by the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Vlado Misajlovski and Timco Mucunski, as well as Turkey’s Deputy National Defense Minister Heibat Musa.
In his address, Mucunski pointed out that the purpose of the Memorandum is to establish a framework for cooperation and solutions to the defense industry, including strategic activities and production of defense industry products. As he said, the partnership of the two companies is of great importance for the state as a NATO member.
The Minister announced that projects are planned for the establishment of new production lines in the next period, using the expertise and technology of the ATS Group.
– This cooperation will open the possibility of increased presence in the international market, as well as the market of the two countries. Particularly important to this cooperation is that it includes opening a new factory that will result in job creation and direct contribution to the national economy. This is evidence of the government’s commitment to attracting foreign investment, accelerated economic development, job creation and improving the standard of living of citizens. In addition, projects are planned for the establishment of new production lines by the MOC using the expertise and technology of the ATS Group in this specific area – said Mucunski.
The signing is not just a business decision, Mucunski added, but a strong message of confidence in our industrial capacities and recognition for the personnel potential.
Turkey’s Deputy National Defense Minister Heibat Musa has expressed satisfaction with the signing of the memorandum « which is a strategic step that will further strengthen the relations between the two allied and friendly countries ».
As he said, not only is a technical partnership document, but also proof of friendship and trust between Macedonia and Turkey. I believe in my heart, he said, that our cooperation will contribute to sustainable development goals and that the agreement will be useful and our two countries for the whole region.
