Shopping is also relaxed | Luxembourg word
First of all: there is hardly anything more stressful than the weekly shopping for the whole family. Especially now that the tourism season has started and the Müllerthal is teeming with tourists, there is a lot of operation on the weekends in the shops in my trust.
Even the search for a parking space becomes an adventure, not to mention the clear view of counters and refrigerators. Of course, the guests of the region and the business people do well after the rather moderate Corona years, but they rob my nerve. Since they stroll through the shops in search of the right treats at walking pace, my purchase is more of a hurdle run. In contrast to the tourists, I only want one thing: into the store, work through shopping lists and out again.
While others can enjoy the Saturday shopping spree, I tend to break out of sweats and panic attacks.
You already notice: I am also one of the people who avoid the large supermarkets, especially on Saturdays. Because while others – for whatever reason – can enjoy the Saturday shopping stroll in the mall, I tend to go to sweat outbursts and panic attacks. This leads to the fact that I run through the shelves without a shopping list and completely forgot what to buy at all.
How do you separate in the supermarket?
But there is another way, as I found on Sunday. One of the supermarkets that I usually avoid is now open on Sunday morning. And here it showed again: the early bird catches the worm. Because while (almost) everyone else was still sitting on Sunday breakfast, I did my shopping – and finally left the shop satisfied and even relaxed. So it works!

The “gazettchen” is an informal column in which the authors legally tell about their everyday experiences or even give an insight into their thoughts. This has a long tradition: On December 3, 1946, an opinion with the title « Today » appears for the first time at the top of the side left on the first local side in the « Luxemburger Word ». On January 13, 1971, the « Gazettchen », which has been extremely popular with readers, then became the « gazette », which has kept its Premium-Platz in Luxembourg’s top-class daily newspaper to this day and across all layout.
