Shopping Center Demolition in Cascais starts on Tuesday
The demolition of the building of the former Cascaisvilla shopping center in Cascais begins on Tuesday to be built to a residential and commercial area with the signature of London architect Norman Foster, the City Council said Monday.
According to the municipality, the project by Norman Foster will use Cascaisvilla recycled materials.
« The zone where this Norman Foster project will be born has recently been the target of the implementation of the new Cascais Bus Terminal, along with a profound change in road circulation, which has allowed greater fluidity in the transit of the village entrance, » said the House, who stressed that it is « a long -designed demolition by much of the population of Cascais. »
It should be noted that in July last year, the Lusa Agency says, Vice President Nuno Pieira Lopes, who presented the project at an extraordinary meeting of the House, said that the new construction “will not be a unique and compact building, but divided into two structures separated by a large pedestrian zone”, aligned “with the existing tunnel on Avenida D. Pedro, who was recently requalified”.
Cascaisvilla was inaugurated in 2001 and is located at the nascent entrance in Cascais, the main gateway to the village.
