Shooting in Washington. Employees of the Israeli embassy among the victims
The shooting took place at 21.05 on the street, where there are numerous museums and government buildings, including the FBI office. At that time, an event lasted in DC Jewish Museum and there were many employees of the Israeli embassy.
The victims were identified as a man and a woman, but their names were not given. According to American media reports, Israel’s ambassador was not present in the museum during the shooting.

The Israeli ambassador at the UN called the incident « a depraved act of anti -Semitic terrorism. » – « Placing diplomats and the Jewish community is exceeding the red line, » wrote Ambassador Danny Danon on X. – « We are convinced that the US authorities will take strong actions against the people responsible for this criminal act. »
The Jewish Museum, like many other Jewish institutions in the US, is struggling with security issues in the face of growing anti -Semitism.

She also added that the Museum recently received a subsidy to improve security, partly due to the new exhibition dedicated to LGBT.
