US leading shoe manufacturers and retailers demanded that US President Donald Trump should be exempted from tariffs based on reciprocity of shoe products.

Adidas, Columbia, Crocs, Nike, Skechers, Toms, Under Armour, including brands such as shoe manufacturers and retailers, sent a joint letter to US President Trump on tariffs.

In this letter, it was stated that shoe businesses face a “existential önemli threat against serious cost increases.

Hundreds of enterprises are at risk of closing in the letter, many orders were suspended and US consumers for the shoe stocks can be exhausted soon.

The letter was added to the high taxes applied to shoe products based on reciprocity basis, and many American shoe companies will have to pay customs duty between 150 and 220 percent.

Many companies that produce affordable shoes to low and medium -income families can neither absorb the high tariffs nor reflect the costs to the consumer, said that if they do not exempt from tariffs based on reciprocity, these companies would download shutters.
