Shock with Iman Celif: Announces a medical report that « proves to be biologically » male «

The results of the leaf test that the boxing champion had been submitted Iman Celif Prior to the 2023 World Championship they were published for the first time, with the medical report showing that the athlete is a biological man.

A few hours after the decision of the International Boxing Federation that it will compulsory leaf test for all athletes and athletes participating in its events, it saw the light of the document throwing oil on fire.

US journalist Alan Abrahamson, who revealed in Paris that the International Olympic Committee had been warned more than a year earlier that Celif had a « man » DNA, revealed the result of the test that the boxer had undergone in New Delhi in March 2023.

The document published on the website 3 Wire Sports summarizes the findings for Celif as « abnormal », stating: « Chromosome analysis reveals a male karyotype ».

The karyotype is mentioned in the general appearance of a person’s complete set of chromosomes, which in the case of Celif has been reported by the International Boxing Union as XY, the male standard.

The results of the exams carry the letterhead of the leading Hematology Center of India Dr Lal Pathlabs in New Delhi, which is accredited by the American College of Pathologists and certified by the international standardization organization based in Switzerland. The document challenges the position of ILO Mark Adams spokesman who, at a tense press conference at the Paris Olympics, described the results as « ad hoc » and « illegally ».

The then President of the ILO Thomas Bach went even further, arguing that the results are the product of a Russian misinformation campaign. He pointed out in an interview earlier this year that IBA, led by Russian Umar Cremlev, was not recognized by the ILO in a dispute over moral and financial management. The official certification of the Indian laboratory that conducted tests in Celifs increases the pressure on the ILO to explain why it believes that the results are not legal.

It also makes any possible return of Celif much more complicated. The 26 -year -old promises to win a second consecutive Olympic medal in Los Angeles in 2028. However, world boxing has decided that Celif is not eligible to participate in future events as a woman without first undergoing the same control.

The administrative body, which was temporarily approved for the Olympic boxing in Los Angeles, announced that all athletes over 18 should undergo genetic polymerase chain reaction tests to determine their gender. The test detects chromosomal material through oral coating, saliva or blood. Kelif, in which she was allowed to box in Paris because of the female passport status, has not provided any evidence that she has female chromosomes in the nine months since the scandal broke out.
