Shkodra, gate of Albanian talent towards Europe, the winning song of the National Children Festival will represent Albania in Eurosong Junior
By Albert Vataj
Happy and significant news for Albanian culture and music comes from the city of Shkodra, the cradle of art and musical tradition. The Mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, has shared through a post on social networks an important development for children’s art and international representation of new Albanian talents: the 9–14 -year -old winning song of the Nationwide Children’s Song – Shkodra will represent Albania in « Junior Eurovision Song Contest ».
A historical agreement connecting the tradition with the international scene
This step is formalized through an agreement between the Municipality of Shkodra and the Albanian Radio Television (RTSH), signed by Benet Beci and Ms. Eni Vasili, Director General of ART. This agreement is not just an institutional act, but a bridge between a longitudinal festival and a scene representing the dream of every artist in Europe.
« We are convinced, »-writes Mayor Beci-« that the scene of the traditional Shkodra festival, already in its 63rd year, will be even more successful and rewarding for dozens of children’s music creators and hundreds of talents that climb there, which will already have an open road to international representation through RTSH and Eurosong. »
A festival that keeps the creative spirit of Albanian childhood in life
The Nationwide Festival of Children’s Song in Shkodra is one of the oldest and most stable artistic events in the Albanian lands. Founded in 1962, it has become a precious platform for decades where many well -known figures of Albanian music have begun. Shkodra, who has given birth to Albanian light music and nourished the national artistic spirit for generations, through this festival has maintained a living tradition of aesthetic education and early creativity in children.
At this festival, hundreds of children from all Albanian territories have grown and formed – a joint effort of composers, poets, music teachers and families who believe in the art of art to form more sensitive and civilized individuals.
Representation in Eurosong Junior – a new window for Albanian art
« Junior Eurovision Song Contest », founded by the European Union of Radio and Television (EBU) in 2003, is a prestigious platform that not only reveals new talent, but gives children all over Europe to show their passion in a large scene and convey powerful messages through music.
The fact that the Albanian selection will come from the Shkodra scene of this festival is an acceptance of artistic quality, professionalism in organizing and careful treatment of new talent. This transforms Shkodra into a landmark for the European representation of children’s art in Albania, giving the city once again the status it deserves as the capital of Albanian culture.
A new hope for young Albanian artists
This cooperation creates a new opportunity for young Albanian artists, not only to be heard beyond the borders, but also to experience a worthy artistic journey, supported by the state and public cultural institutions. It is a step that restores the belief that Albania can offer younger generations dignified space for cultural growth, without having to seek elsewhere what they should find in their country.
In this way, Shkodra is not only the host of a festival, but becomes the cultural ambassador of Albanian childhood in Europe. And this happens not only through the song, but through a model of vision and collaboration, where words honor, dedication and art take on a living meaning.
