Shkodra electronic, the miracle of the Albanian creative spirit that illuminates at Eurovision 2025, in Basel, Switzerland

The electronic Shkodra is not just a musical band, but an outbreak of Albanian spiritual light and cultural heritage in a world scene like that of Eurovision. This year, in Basel, Switzerland, in the 2025th edition, they brought an extraordinary appearance, a rare act where modernity naturally intertwined with the deepest ethnographic roots. In their every appearance, the electronic Shkodra becomes the voice and appearance of an Albania that proudly preserves identity, absorbing it in the most contemporary forms of musical and scenic art.

The presentation at the Eurovision opening ceremony, in the turquoise carpet of the stars, was a solemn moment. Their slogan, « Home is where Cylym is », sounds like a spiritual credo that embodies within all the philosophy of Albanian hospitality and hearth. Simple in sound, deep in the sense, this saying embodies the organic connection between man and the homeland, between inheritance and belonging.

At the center of this appearance was Beatrice Gjergji, who with nobility and beauty brought to the stage a unique dress, realized by her mother, stylist Irina Dema. The costume conveyed the topic « Grandma’s Hospitality of Grandma », a felt trip to the collective Albanian memory. The elements of the dress included traditional symbols, handicrafts and personal memories, among them a small wooden bag that once preserved grandmother’s jewelry, now transformed into a symbolic relic of memory art.

At a time when many artists try to stand out through effects, electronic Shkodra shone through authenticity. Where electronics echo the lute, and where modern lighting embraces the shadow of the chimney of the house, the electronic Shkodra proves that the brightest future is what stems from the roots.

This appearance is an homage to Shkodra as a cradle of culture, for all mothers who knit memory in every corner, for every grandmother inheriting a world in a small box. Eurovision 2025 has never had such a beautiful Albania, so worthy, so deep in its message.
