The successful native of Rimavská Sobota collected success at home and beyond the borders and the crown in the life of a professional sportswoman was supposed to be the Tokyo Olympics.

However, the unexpected decisions caused it to not get into the national team and decided to say goodbye to the karate competition.

One and a half years ago went to United Arab Emirateswhere she started a new life as a coach and a nutritional therapist. He claims that life in the country of luxury and money is not easy and contrast to branded cars and expensive jewelry costs great poverty and fast life.

Nevertheless, he does not regret his decision and is ready to deal with another life challenge.

You ended your career over three years ago. Do you miss the karate competition?

Honestly, I haven’t closed this chapter yet. The end of my career was a very traumatic experience and although I stopped competing, I still did not report the official end.

The last time I started in the fall of 2021. The last tournament I lost on purpose not to nominate me to the next World Cup and to end the competition.

Why did you decide?

I wanted to give the Slovak Karate Association to all interested people a reason to miss me out of the next performance. I did not rule myself.

Did it be related to the fact that they did not nominate you to the Tokyo Olympics?

Mali. I was preparing for it for six years and that is why I entered the army, where they gave me professional conditions.

In 2021 I won the title of Slovak Champion, but despite everything, I was not nominated for the Olympic Tournament. It was a black dot for the whole frustrating period.

Three years before, I won bronze at the European Championships, but they didn’t allow me to start at the World Cup. In the world ranking, I moved about 40 ranks lower from 25 places.

And although I lost a lot of points at the beginning of the Olympic preparation, the next three years I fully fought for a nomination. Unheard of.

Did you believe you had to the Olympics?

Believed. All the predispositions indicated that I would get a medal and a game ticket in Tokyo in the qualifying tournament. However, the Slovak Union changed the conditions during the qualification and blocked my way.

Did you try to find out the answer, why did it happen?

Apparently I do not have enough performance and I am fat. I have never been obese, but I just have more muscle mass. They were constantly trying to find mistakes at me and show that I didn’t have to the Olympics.

Finally, for the qualifying tournament, the karate player, which I overcome in the performance tests, was nominated, I was higher in the ranking and defeated it in a direct fight at the Slovak Championship. I did the most, but there were still new obstacles.

Since I was under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense and Dukla Banská Bystricaso the then Minister of Defense was also involved in the situation. However, it also failed to change or influence the result, because the Sport Act played in favor of the Union. Like me, many athletes burned.

How did you feel?

It destroyed me, I was crying a lot. I couldn’t watch the Olympics even in TV. Such is the sad story of my broken sports heart.

How do you look at the situation today?

I don’t know if I sometimes deal with it. I tried to cut off from the life of a karatist, although since I was four years old I practically did not know another life. I left the defense units and wanted to pursue the coaching I studied.
