She has one simple answer

Previously, she enjoyed wild city tours, where she probably got a little too many drinks, but she no longer does. Cooper, who lives in Boston in Massachusetts, told the US media Newsweek that her ‘idea of fun has changed’ and that it has evolved as she herself has grown older.

Unfortunately, not everyone shares her idea of the perfect evening. In fact, she has heard from many (most often on social media) that she is wasting the best years of her life and that she should come out a little more.

« I think people have a notion that if you don’t go crazy in your twenties, you miss something, » Nicole said.

« I see a lot of content creators say that twenties are the best years to drink and go crazy. It’s as if the only way to enjoy its twenties is about to be in town. »

« It can be difficult for people – especially in their twenties – to understand that someone can have a completely different perspective than themselves, » she continued.

Of course, there are people who love to walk in town and dance to the bright morning, but that’s just not the way Nicole – who belongs to Generation Z (born between 1997 and 2012) – want to spend his weekends.

Today, she prefers small gatherings and relaxed moments with friends rather than noisy clubs where you can’t hear each other.

The notion of partying all the time in your 20s can make people feel like they are ‘missing out on something’ if they stay home. Nicole had it that way too, but now she is more confident and loves to embrace a calmer lifestyle.

« The happier I stay with myself and my life, the less I feel the need to go crazy every weekend. There is clearly the time and place for it – I love to dance and have fun – but I also enjoy the quiet, quiet moments just as much, » she said.

Nicole has also cut down on her alcohol consumption, which has helped her find more balance in everyday life. And she is far from alone about that choice. According to the International Wine and Spirits Record (IWSR), the number of young people from Generation Z, who choose to refrain from alcohol.

IWSR, which provides consumer data and analyzes, has followed this trend and shows that 75 percent of US Gen Z’s are happy to moderate their alcohol intake.

In line with the influence of social media and influencer culture, IWSR suggests that lower alcohol content may become the norm of the future.

In response to those who claim she is wasting her twenties, Nicole shared a video on social media Tiktok (@nicoleee.cooper) where she gives again. In the video, she shows how she slept for 11 hours, ate her life dish and had a peaceful morning when she felt healthy.

Can those who were out and partying all night say the same? The video ended up going viral and got over 1.2 million views in a short time. Not only that, it also got more than 222,200 likes on social media.

The reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, and Nicole hopes it will inspire others to feel strengthened instead of ashamed of their lifestyle.

« Each taste. There is nothing wrong with having fun in the way that feels right to one self – and this is mine, » Nicole told Newsweek.

The video also became so popular that in no time it got over 500 comments on Tiktok – and in fact many have taken the time to praise Nicole for making what makes her happy.

« To do what you feel like is not a waste of time, » wrote one user, while another wrote, « I hate the one there ‘you have to be in town, otherwise you are wasting your twenties’ mentality. »

« I’ve never found it satisfying to go out. I’d rather be with my husband and family, » it sounded from another, while a fourth commented: « Real freedom is to waste time in the way you enjoy yourself. »
