Shame for Bulgaria: Mayor wants a one -way ticket to the Roma

In his business card, the mayor of the Ilinden region of Sofia has written: « I will work for a city that takes care of people and serves as an example for other cities, as it is appropriate to a European capital. » For those who do not know: the mayor of the Ilinden region is called Emil Branchevski. He is a doctor by profession. He has specialized in human medicine, and his personal cause – as he himself has indicated in his business card, is « the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and sports among adolescents and the prevention of aggression among young people. »

Promises that have not been fulfilled

The same day, Dr. Emil Branchevski stated that « there will be no distressed people. » That even before it was dark, everyone who was left homeless would be housed in the crisis centers of the Sofia Municipality. He also said that there was no tension in the destruction of the buildings and that the municipality « assisted » the families « to collect their home. »

« We do not want these people »

Branchevski also wrote that there were no attempts from the Ilinden region to export the problem to other areas. With the instant reactions of the district mayors of Kremikovtsi, Krasna Polyana and Lyulin, these words were also refuted. Both Lilia Donkova, and Dimitar Petrov, and Georgi Todorov unanimously and rather intolerant and inhuman as European Bulgaria said – « We do not want them. »

The Mayor of Ilinden also did not comply with the temporary measure of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), which obliged the Bulgarian state not to destroy the neighborhood in the Sugar Factory. Moreover, the mayor seemed to try to « finish » her – first heard rumors that he did not receive such an order, then that she was written in an incomprehensible French, and finally that her interpretation was not contrary to his measures. Understand – the decision on the demolition of « dangerous housing » is correct.

People without a roof over their heads fell out of the news

It has been more than a month since – a time when many things have happened, including a transport blockade of Sofia and various scandals in parliament. Along with the crowd of world and local events, families who continue to live under the roofs have fallen out of the news.

But not from the priorities of « their » mayor.

Provocation

In other words: to leave and not come back! One -way – as the time moves: past, and then the future. However, in the mayor’s scheme and his associates, a future for these people is clearly not provided.

As some « battles » who are unceremoniously displayed in a « own controlled environment », the three wave their arrogant neglect to the European Court of Human Rights.

These lines can be translated as follows: gentlemen European bureaucrats! You do not know what the people you are defending are. Your fantasy is what duck they will create in front of your shiny portals if we send them to you. So, get out of your temporary measures!

Searching tension is sought

It is not another case that Bulgaria does not adopt a court decision in Strasbourg. Violation of temporary measures is a violation of the European Convention on Human Rights. However, this is obviously not interested in the doctor who specializes in human medicine, whose personal cause was supposedly to take care of people in a European capital way.

It is clear to everyone that the submitted project for a decision is a brazen provocation whose sole purpose is to sharpen the political opposition in the Sofia City Council. If the path of money is traced, it may also become clear the answer to the question « Why? ».

The Commission for Protection against Discrimination will rule on the document submitted after sessions on May 28.
