Several stabbed in attack in the Netherlands
Several people, including a police officer, were injured in a knife attack in the Dutch city of Hofforp, west of Schiphol Airport – the Belgian Public Broadcasting Service in Dutch.
Social networks are spreading information on one or two dead, but Dutch police have not confirmed these claims so far, and does not even provide information on the condition of the injured.
According to a MIA correspondent in Brussels, according to VRT, police received a report early this morning that « something is happening » in a Hofforp house, after which several police officers arrived at the scene.
-We received a report of an incident with a knife stabbed on Gianni Blankers-Kkelan Street in Hofforp around 6:00 this morning. Several ambulances and a mobile medical team are on site. The investigation into the incident is ongoing – the North Netherlands police administration said.
According to eyewitnesses, the « five ambulances » left empty from the outside house in which the incident took place.
The Dutch portal NH reported that « many wounded people » were found in and around the house, but that police « still cannot say anything about the nature of the injuries ».
According to media reports, the injured police officer was taken to hospital and blood was reported on his police vehicle. Witnesses claim that traces of blood, besides the police car, can be seen on the street itself in front of the house.
The house is blocked and black screens are set up around it, and a forensic investigation is underway.
It is not yet known whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the attack, for which there are still no details.
