Several hospitals will rate funding from PNRR
The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Marcel Boloș, said on Tuesday that, at present, there are discussions with the representatives of the European Commission that only 13 hospitals will be made with financing through the National Plan of Redress and Resility, and another six of the ones provided will be built from the loan that our country will contract from the European Bank.
Boloș was asked, at the Parliament Palace, how many of the hospitals that were initially stipulated that they will be carried out through PNRR will remain in this project.
‘Initially, when I started the National Plan of Redress and Resility, I started on the road with 24, after which at the first renegotiation there were 19, and now the discussions with the European Commission were like all those hospitals that have the public procurement contracts and the work in the site started to continue the financing from the National Plan. This negotiation is currently working with the representatives of the Commission, it will be finalized during this month. The concern that the Commission has is that these hospital infrastructure projects, which are complex and with a high level of implementation, will not be completed until August 31, 2026 ‘, explained Marcel Boloș.
According to him, solutions are to be identified for these hospitals to be completed, or by transferring to the cohesion policy, respectively in the health program, or in the EIB loan, which is in the contracting procedure.
‘None of these hospitals will remain in the will of fate, understanding the importance they have. 13 are in question with the European Commission in order to be kept in financing from the National Plan of Redress and Resility. The difference of six, up to 19, as we employed, analyze the possibility of being transferred to the health program or in the EIB loan. So, at the moment, the analyzes and discussions we have are that the projects have identified sources of financing and not to affect the health infrastructure. (…) These projects are not projects that are done from day to day. Building a hospital means years of work, project training and implementation (…) and I think no one expected a hospital built from the Foundation to be ready in a year, « said the Minister of Investments and Funds.
Marcel Boloș was invited on Tuesday to the Commission for European Affairs in the Chamber of Deputies, to present the stage of negotiations and proposals to amend the PNRR.
