Several European countries remained without electricity

Around noon, Spain and Portugal have been affected by huge electricity outages. In some places, they had to evacuate subway, trains standing, flies to the affected areas, and cities were covered by traffic chaos as traffic lights do not work. Many have remained trapped in lifts, and they do not work either online and telecommunications networks. There are also parts of France without electricity, but they have already eliminated the electrical outage, while Spain and Portugal remain without current, reports BBC.

The Portuguese network manager Ren has announced that electricity disorders in the country are due to « defect in the Spanish electrical network », which should be associated with a « rare atmospheric phenomenon ». « Due to extreme temperature fluctuations in the interior of Spain, anomalous oscillations appeared in high voltage lines, » they reported BBC.

Spain has not yet responded to the claim, but several Spanish media has cited the words of the senior director of the Spanish operator of the Red EléCTRIC network, so that the recovery of energy supply across the country could last from six to ten hours, as it is an incident unprecedented. Operational CEO of Red EléCTRICA Eduardo Prieto refused to comment on the causes of the loss, reports Guardian. The re -supply of Portugal with electricity could last all week, reports BBC.
