Seven points that you should know before the start of Luga

Under the motto « Make invisible visible », the temporary open air exhibition Luxembourg Urban Garden takes place for the first time in Luxembourg. The Luga invites you to rediscover city and nature.

When does it start?

From May 7th to October 18, Luxembourg is all about the urban green. The official opening marks the official opening on May 10th in Luxembourg City. In the city park on the Kinnekswiss, visitors can expect a diverse program on three stages between 1.30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. – with music, performances and hands -on activities for young and old.

The start of Luga is also celebrated in the north of the country: On May 11, the official opening ceremony will take place there – more precisely on the Däichwissen in Ettelbrück. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors are expected from local producers who present their regional products. Musical performances are organized on site.

Where does the Luga take place?

The Luga takes place at a total of five locations. There are four of them in the capital: in Kirchberg, in the Alzettetal, in the valley of the renatured Petruss and in the capital -based park Eduard André. The fifth location is located in the heart of Ettelbrück. Overall, the exhibition extends over around eleven kilometers in Luxembourg city and about five kilometers in Ettelbrück.

What can visitors expect?

Over 1,500 events, spread over 162 days, take place during the Luga. The exhibition presents a mixture of urban gardens, art installations, environmental projects and agricultural innovations around city, nature and sustainability. Local agriculture is put into the limelight in Ettelbrück, especially in Ettelbrück.

Luga 2025 also includes some special features that were created for the exhibition: a Luga bread, a specially brewed Luga beer, a fine Luga-Crémant-and even specially designed Luga letter marks. In the North Stadium, the focus is clearly on Luxembourg agriculture and regional products. A small detail on the side: The Luga-Crémant was able to mature in the historical casemates of Luxembourg city for six months.

What does little visitors expect?

Children expect a varied and instructive program that combines nature, creativity and play. The exhibition offers numerous family-friendly activities that are specially designed to inspire young visitors to environmental and sustainability issues.

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, school classes can playfully discover the Luga in many places. A projector is even available for lessons in the Science Hub in the Petrusstal. Before the Fondation Pescatore under the literary tree, the Cité library offers readings in the countryside.

Discover the new Peter

After completing the first phase of the renaturation last summer, the Petrus valley showed itself to the Luga in new splendor. Visitors can experience the redesigned valley with its numerous offers. Right at the entrance at Rue St. Ulric, the Science Hub invites you to discover with exciting installations. The modern skate park is very popular anyway, and other sporting activities are not neglected: a new fitness area and a freshly created mini golf course offer movement and fun outdoors. The necessary strengthening is available at the new kiosk on site.
