Seska crew Portuguese rally closes 15th place / day
Seska crew, which starts with the Ford Puma Rally1, prepared by the M-Sport Ford during this WRC season, withdrew from the fight for a high-quality position in the first stage of Friday.
At the end of the closing day at the 19th stage, the Latvian crew was ranked 15th, but in the next two stages reached the tenth best result. In the 22nd stage, Latvians were once again at the tenth best score, but in the final two stages, the Latvian crew took ninth place
On the last day of the race, Frenchman Sebastien Sebastien Ogie (« Toyota Gazoo » protected the first place in the overall standings, who only overtook Estonian Otak Tenak (« Hyundai Shell Mobis »), while Finn Kalle Rovanper (« Toyota Gazoo ») (« Toyota Gazoo »).
Seska’s crew lost 12 minutes and 28.2 seconds to the leader and ranked 15th.
In the overall standings after five rounds, Toyota Gazoo’s British pilot Elfin Evans is in the lead with 118 points, 88 points for Rovanperem and 86 points in Ogeier. Seska crew with eight points ranks 12th.
For the Latvian crew, this is the second of six stages scheduled for this season. In the second stage of the WRC, the Latvian crew finished in sixth place in the Swedish rally.
Seska’s crew debuted the WRC last season, starting in three stages. In the Polish rally, Latvians were fifth, in the first stage of the WRC in Latvia in July – seventh, losing his place on the podium in the last stage, but in the Chilean rally after the emergency, the race was continued for training purposes.
The 2025 WRC season has 14 stages, with motor racing players competing in Estonia in mid -July.
Last season, Belgian Tieri Neville became the champion.
