Seska crew in Portugal fastest time on WRC fifth rounds / day
In the first training runs, Seska crew, which starts with the Ford Puma Rally1, prepared by the M-Sport Ford in this WRC season, made the track in three minutes and 59.1 seconds, taking seventh place.
Finn Kalle Rovanpere (« Toyota Gazoo ») achieved the best result for three minutes and 54.7 seconds.
In the second training runs, the ferret and Francis advanced to third place, with three minutes and 54.2 seconds and 1.3 seconds and one second, and for one second, respectively, Rovanperem and Belgian Tieri Neville (« Hyundai Shell Mobis ».
In the third training runs, the Latvians did not start, with the Latvian team falling two places lower, but in the last training sessions, Sesks finished in three minutes and 52.3 seconds, achieving the best result in the sum of four runs.
The second behind the Latvians was Rovanpere (+0.6) and the third – Neville (+0.9).
Rovanper’s teammate Frenchman Sebastien Ogeier (+1.7) took fourth place, Estonian Ots Tenaks (+1,8), representing Hyundai Shell Mobis, and UK -representative British pilot, Toyota Gazoo’s current leader, Elfin Evans (+2.0).
On Thursday, the rally will start with a 2.94 -kilometer sprint speed stages in Figeira Da Fosos, with motor racing on the track at 9.05 pm Latvian time.
On Friday and Saturday, the stages will start at 9.35 and on Sunday at 8.43. The stage will be broadcast live on Go3 Sport 1.
One stage will take place on Thursday, with ten stages on Friday, with one sprint and six stages on Saturday, and six more stages will be made on Sunday.
For four days, the Portuguese ground pavement roads will carry 24 special stages of 344.50 kilometers.
For the Latvian crew, this is the second of six stages scheduled for this season. In the second stage of the WRC, the Latvian crew finished in sixth place in the Swedish rally.
95 crews have confirmed participation in the Portuguese rally, 12 of which start with the leading class Rally1 cars, 55 crews with Rally2 cars, and another 25 crews have a full -wheel drive Rally3 car.
In the overall standings, British pilot British Elfin Evans, representing Toyota Gazoo, is in the lead with 109 points, 66 points for Finn Kallem Rovanperem (Toyota Gazoo) and 59 points for Belgian Trier Neville (Hyundai Shell Mobis).
Seska ranks tenth with eight points.
This season, the Latvian crew is also scheduled to start in rallies in Sardinia, Greece, Estonia, Finland and possibly in Saudi Arabia. These rallies are mostly gravel.
Seska’s crew debuted the WRC last season, starting in three stages. In the Polish rally, Latvians were fifth, in the first stage of the WRC in Latvia in July – seventh, losing his place on the podium in the last stage, but in the Chilean rally after the emergency, the race was continued for training purposes.
There are 14 stages in the WRC season 2025, with motor racing players competing in Estonia in mid -July.
Last season, Belgian Tieri Neville became the champion.
