Serious nuisance on Antwerp Ring this weekend due to work: « Avoid the area » (inland)
The Roads and Traffic Agency (AWV) warns of serious nuisance on the Antwerp Ring and on the Schijnpoortweg this weekend. Not only is part of the Merksem viaduct demolished, but the road surface on the ring is also restored.
Most of the works take place from Friday evening 9 pm to Monday morning, April 14 at 5 am. « To limit the nuisance, the Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV) and Lantis combine two different works, » says spokesperson Stefanie Nagels of AWV.
The site zone is situated between the Antwerp-East junction and the Deurne entrance and exit complex. The traffic on the Antwerp Ring towards the Netherlands then runs over two lanes. The loop coming from the E313 to the Ring towards the Netherlands is closed, just like the Deurne exit. The traffic must follow a detour via the Berchem entrance and exit complex.

AWV carries out concrete repairs on the road on the road. At the same time, Lantis is carrying out Werken Werken in the context of the Oosterweel connection. « There, a border bar of the Merksem viaduct is demolished for the construction of the bypass, the temporary highway along the Ring, » says Lantis spokesperson Laure Stuyck. The Schijnpoortweg under the viaduct was interrupted for this until Tuesday morning, April 15. Traffic must drive locally via the mayor Gabriël Theunisbrug.
According to the AWV, both yards will cause serious traffic nuisance. « We call on road users to avoid the environment as much as possible, » it sounds.
