Serious incident at the Reykjavik Edition hotel
Police in the capital area were called to a hotel in the city center during the eighth time this morning due to a serious incident that had occurred there.
This is stated in a statement from the police.
It states that the investigation of the case is at a complete early stage and therefore it cannot be further stated at this time.
More information will be sent to the media today, or as the case progresses.
One floor said have been closed
According to sources mbl.is, the incident happened at the Reykjavik Edition hotel. One floor of the hotel will have been closed by the Special Forces Commissioner and guests told to stay in their rooms.
The police have not been reached because of the case.

Helena Rós Sturludóttir, Communications Commissioner of the National Commissioner of Police, confirms that the National Commissioner of Police’s special forces have been called out to assist the police in the capital area this morning. She says good preparedness has been on site. The case now lies with the police in the capital area.

The deputy chief of the fire department in the capital area confirms that the incident happened at the Reykjavik Edition hotel. Four ambulances were deployed and one pump car.
Asked if anyone was injured, he says nothing can confirm it.
The fire brigade is no longer on the scene.
