Serious incident at Petrobrazi refinery. Nine employees intoxicated

Nine employees were exposed to gas emissions in the perimeter of Petrobrazi refinery. According to OMV Petrom, the situation was reported to the relevant authorities and the cases are investigated.

‘During the morning of today (Monday, no), an incident took place at an installation under construction from the perimeter of the Petrobrazi refinery. Nine employees of the contractors carrying out works in the installation were exposed to gas emissions. They immediately received medical care on the spot and were transported to the hospital for further investigations. We mention that their health is stable and continuously monitored. Immediately after the event was started, the works in the installation were stopped and, preventively, the staff from the proximity of the installation was evacuated. The situation has been reported to the relevant authorities and the cases are investigated, « said OMV Petrom, in a statement.

Previously, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Prahova announced that nine people were intoxicated on Monday with carbon and hydrogen monoxide at the Petrobrazi refinery during works on an installation.

« These are 9 people intoxicated with carbon and hydrogen monoxide, all in a state of consciousness, of which 4 required infusion, the remaining 5 being stable, » said the Inspectorate for Emergency Prahova.
