Serbia is trying to sabotage the creation of new Kosovo institutions
The Kosovo Security Council has accused Serbia of trying to « sabotage the establishment of new institutions » and the ninth Kosovo legislature to emerge from the February 9 parliamentary elections.
The Kosovo government announced that the Kosovo Security Council held a meeting on April 6 at the request of the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to discuss the security situation, but also, as it was said, Serbia’s destabilizing plans.
The announcement repeated the earlier allegations made by the Kosovo Government that Serbia intervened in the February 9 parliamentary elections through the Serbian List – allegations made by Germany and the European Union mission to monitor elections.
« Serbia is now interfering with some of the MPs of non -Serb and non -Serb communities to sabotage the establishment of new ninth legislature institutions. With threats and seduction, and especially with blackmail, it is trying to promote inter -ethnic and inter -party tensions in Kosovo and destabilize Kosovo, »
The Security Council said this is an interference with « state sovereignty, democratic functioning and institutional integrity of our country ».
Kurti, whose party, Vetevendosje Movement, is the winner of the February 9 elections, earlier during the week held meetings with the parties of the non -community communities in Kosovo, with which he discussed the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the Government.
LVV-which has 48 seats in the Assembly, insufficient to form the executive alone-said he wants to create a government with non-Serb minority parties.
In addition to the issue of forming institutions, according to the announcement, the Security Council also discussed the attack on hand grenades on the Kosovo Post Office in Zvecan on April 1, but also on the arrest on Saturday night « all four Serb pilgrims in Gjakova ».
According to the Council, one of them was the Serbian police lieutenant and the other captain of the Serbian army.
Police, meanwhile, said in a 24-hour report that there were four suspects in Gjakova on April 5, after two knives and an ax were found and seized during a search of their car with Serbian license plates.
