Riga Chamber Choir Ave Sol And the Vidzeme Chamber Orchestra, led by Andris Veismanis, played Johann Sebastian Baha last year John’s Passion, marking its 300th anniversary since its premiere. This year, the Easter concert continues its tradition, reviving another outstanding masterpiece of sacred music – Handel Messiahwhich premiered in the spring of 1742.

Spring is the time when nature wakes up and gives new energy and in this mood Handel Messiah With its triumphant jumble, dramatic voltage and deep spirituality will become a powerful musical adventure. This oratoria, which has maintained its relevance throughout the centuries, reminds us of hope and light even in anxious time.

Conductor Andris Veismanis, one of the most acclaimed interpreters of Baroque music in Latvia, has chosen the most important parts of the oratorium for this concert, creating a two -hour concert program. Under his guidance, both the majestic choir and the orchestra parties and the fine soloists’ arias will be performed, allowing the audience to enjoy the emotional and musical diversity of this masterpiece.

Both experienced musicians and young talents will participate in the concert. Soprano solo parties will be performed by Aija Veismane, who has educated in ancient music, both in Latvia and abroad.
