Sebastian Majtczak remains in custody. The court dismisses the defense applications
On Tuesday, the Piotrków District Court granted the application of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice and decided that Sebastian M. would remain in custody. As emphasized, this decision results from several important premises. The prosecutor’s office indicated, among others To worry about the suspect’s escape again, the possibility of hindering the investigation, as well as the severe punishment threatening him.
Escape to the Emirates, drama in Sierosław
– The court maintained the use of a temporary detention, which was ordered with a arrest letter behind him – Aleksander Duda from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice said after the meeting.
We would like to remind you that a tragic accident occurred in September 2023 in Sierosław near Piotrków Trybunalski. In the collision of cars, parents and their five -year -old son, who traveled by Kia car. Sebastian Majtczak was sitting behind the wheel of the BMW, which was to cause an accident.
After the incident, the man fled to the United Arab Emirates, apparently hoping that he would avoid responsibility. However, Polish services did not give up. A warrant was issued behind him, and after months of searching the suspect was finally brought to the country on Monday (May 26).
Allegations and prison threat
Majtczak heard the allegation of causing a fatal accident. He faces up to 8 years in prison for this act. For now, the accused will remain in custody for at least 30 days from the moment of passing him on the Polish side. The investigation continues, and the public is carefully watching this appalling matter.
Will he be justice for the death of an innocent family? We will find out in the coming weeks. One thing is certain – the tragedy in Sierosław will remain in the memory of residents and close victims for a long time.
