Search in the Maddie case ended in Portugal
The new search in the case of Madeleine McCann has disappeared in Portugal for more than 18 years is over. The work in the Lagos district in the south of the country was completed in the early evening, the state television station RTP reported, citing the criminal police in Lisbon.
The authority confirmed this information on request. Officially, this first search for around two years will only come to an end on Friday with the breakdown of the installations. Nothing can be said about the result of the campaign.
Portuguese and German officials took part in the search. The measure in the popular holiday region had started at the request of the German authorities at the beginning of the week. What remained unknown remained what the German side prompted to initiate this renewed action. It was not announced whether there had been new information beforehand.

In the approximately 50 hectares, closed search area not far from the tranquil Algarve bath place Praia da Luz, a box had been worn out of a ruin of a house in the past few days, but nothing became known about, as the newspaper « Correio da Manhã » reported.

According to the reliable Portuguese sheet, several abandoned houses as well as water wells and cisterns were examined in the search. Excavations were also carried out. Accordingly, a floor radar and an excavator were used.
The suspect could soon be released
Maddie, as the British girl is called, had disappeared from a holiday complex in Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007 shortly before her fourth birthday. German investigators suspect that it has been kidnapped and murdered. They suspect the 48 -year -old German Christian B., who is currently in a German prison because of another case.
