At the edge of the solar system, scientists have found an object with a diameter of about 700 kilometers. It moves around the sun in a very elongated orbit, which allows it to consider it a new dwarf planet.

An object that was named 2017 of201, is called Traneptun, because it moves around the sun at a distance exceeding the orbit of Neptune. The candidate for the new dwarf planet takes about 25 thousand years to turn one revolution around the central star of our system.
The size of 2017 of201 is slightly smaller than the Cerr – the smallest of the five recognized dwarf planets of the solar system.
According to researchers, a distant object weighing 20 thousand times is less than the Earth and 50 times – by Pluto, which is considered the largest dwarf planet.
« It is potentially large enough to be considered a dwarf planet. Her orbit is very eccentric, which means that in the past it has gone an interesting path of orbital migration »– explained the leader of the study, astrophysicist Sikhao Chang from the Institute for Perspective Research in Princeton (USA).
Scientists call it one of the most remote visible objects in the solar system. Its existence questioned the idea that a huge space of space outside Neptune, in the Kuiper belt, contains only numerous icy bodies.
« We do not know its shape yet. Unfortunately it is too far away, so it’s hard to do with telescopes.
