The American has introduced the poison of the most fragile snakes in the world for 17 years.

Scientists have studied his blood and created an antidote on its basis, which protects 19 species of poisonous snakes from bites.

This is stated in a study that Posted in Cell’s magazine, reports CNN.

The history of the study of the extremal Tim Frede from California began after immunologist Jacob Glenville saw the plots about this self-expert from snakes in the media.

The American told how he introduced the snake poison, including deadly cobra and mamb, and allowed reptiles to bite themselves. Thanks to such « experiments » the man actually received immunity to several neurotoxins.

« News headlines were quite showing: » Crazy guy bite snakes. « But I looked and thought it was an unharmed diamond »– said scientist Jacob Glenville.

He later contacted Tim Frede and asked how extreme practices influenced his body.

« We talked about it. And I said, » I know it’s uncomfortable, but I am very interesting to look at your blood. « And he replied, » Finally, I was waiting for this call « – the immunologist recalls.

Tim Frede agreed to cooperate and sent a sample of his blood to scientists, which was investigated for eight years. In the end, scientists managed to create an antidote that can protect from 19 species of poisonous snakes. The effectiveness of the drug was confirmed by mice testing.

The traditional way of making an antidote from snakes involves the introduction of a small amount of harmful substance to horses or other animals. Scientists expect an immune response to collect blood and get antibodies from it.

This antidote production can be dangerous, the process is time -consuming, and the finished serum is capable of leading to serious side effects. Experts have long been urging to find the best ways to treat snake bites, from which about 200 people die every day.

Now scientists have secreted antibodies from the blood of the American extremier. Scientists have found that they counteract neurotoxins contained in the poison of 19 series, including coral, cobras, tapens, coats, mamb and others.

Each antibodies were protested separately on mice, which were introduced by reptile poison. In the end, the researchers created an effective serum of two antibodies and a low molecular weight drug that acts as a serpent poison inhibitor.

The results of the study showed that the antidote provided the mice with one hundred percent protection against poison for 13 types of snakes and partially saved (in 20 to 40% of cases) from six more reptiles.

Currently, the drug comes in clinical trials for humans.

Human antibodies are expected to have fewer side effects than an antidote, created in the traditional way, says a pharmacologist who specializes in snake bites and has not participated in Stephen Hall’s research.

« It will be revolutionary if (antidote) gets to the clinic for a long time, to people. It will actually completely change the area of treatment of snake bites »– says the specialist.
