An international team of scientists announced that a protein that plays an important role in hair growth and protection of hair follicles has been discovered.

In the experiments, a protein called MCL-1 in the mice, the prevention of hair loss gradually increased and the semmetrheal cells in the follicles within 90 days leads to the destruction of the stem.

Researchers from the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute in Singapore National University Faculty of Medicine and Australia show that increasing this protein can help prevent hair loss and even treat the ringworm, because it helps to activate hair follicle stem cells during the growth phase and protects them from damage and stress.

It is believed that a protein called MCL-1 plays an important role in supporting the growth phase, and also helps the stem cells responsible for renewing sleeping follicles help to ‘re-activate’.

Scientists say that the protection of these cells from stress and damage increases their growth capabilities, which contributes to the preservation of hair density and healthy hair renewal.

Although the results of the study, published in the scientific journal Nature, need clinical experiments in humans, the team’s understanding of hair growth mechanisms may pave the way for innovative treatments.
