School in Diepenbeek provides guidance after a major accident with school bus (Diepenbeek)

« The condition of our student is currently unchanged and quite stable, » says director Ellen Capiot of Buso Sint-Gerardus Diepenbeek after last Wednesday’s bus accident in Riemst. A 15-year-old student was seriously injured there. « The bus counselor is at home. She will now have to take the time to recover. »
On Wednesday afternoon, the school bus was getting home to a tree on the Maastrichtersteenweg in Riemst when you were brought the children at home. The last student on the bus, a 15-year-old boy, was stuck for two hours. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The school bus rode for Sint-Gerardus in Diepenbeek.
A number of measures have been taken in the school. « On Monday, a teacher as a bus counselor will go to the students of this process. We have engaged our pedagogues and psychologist from both the schools (Bubao and Buso) and the MFC, for both our students, but also to take care of the staff (teachers, paramedics and bus counselors), » said the director. “The CLB also comes to our school to support.
We have planned the first lessons differently in this way that we can provide enough time and space for everyone, « she concludes.
