School chief that has never worked at school: Competition Terms have been amended ’23. To her in favor

Newly elected Director of the Agency for Education Katarina Milkovic As we have learned, she had applied for a competition for the director of the said agency earlier. She sent the necessary documents in March last year, the Governing Council invited her to an interview, but she was not elected. When asked how it was not chosen then, she revealed to us that the competition was canceled.

– I do not know what was the reason for the cancellation of the competition for the AZOO director, but I was not disqualified as a non -professional person last year because I did not work in the class – Milkovic told us, who will run an agency and never worked at school.

However, this situation 2024 did not discourage her, but re -applied for a competition that was announced on February 12 this year.

– I answered again this year because I had all the necessary documents, they invited me to an interview and I was selected later – Milkovic told us about which we wrote on Monday.

It is interesting to mention that in 2023, there were several amendments to the Law on the Agency for Education. Such as changing the conditions for candidates of that position.

Today states that the condition is ‘at least ten years of work experience in education or in scientific activity in the field of education’ and to then the condition was ‘Seven years of work experience in direct educational work’. So, if Milkovic answered before amendments to the Law on Agency for Education, due to the fact that she had never worked at school, she would not have fulfilled the conditions. That is, she could not become the Director of the AZOO.
