The 58-year-old was elected for the third time as the Pink in Salzburg. But: he only received 37 votes, his challenger Ignacio Patt came to 32.
Sepp Schellhorn for the third, but only narrowly: The Goldegger restaurateur, who has now become State Secretary, was elected Liberals at the NEOS state assembly in Salzburg on Saturday. However, an outstanding vote looks different – the 58 -year -old won the coordination with a thin majority of only 52 percent. Schellhorn was only a few votes ahead of his 26-year-old challenger Ignacio Patt.
« The confirmation was there, even if it was not so high, » said Neos spokesman Simon Makart. There were 37 votes on Schellhorn, 32 votes. « It was a wake -up call, you have to be so honest, » the speaker commented on the situation. The « complete confirmation within the organization » will be obtained in the next few years. « Sepp Schellhorn combines experience and innovative strength – properties that Salzburg now urgently needs, » said Neos General Secretary Douglas Hoyos to the elected in a press release Rosen.
2012 for the first time state spokesman
With his election, Schellhorn is the third time in NEOS in Salzburg. First, he was available to the Pink state group from the foundation in 2012 to mid -2014. When he moved into the National Council of Angelika Mlinar, who moved to the EU Parliament, followed him as the state spokesman for the entrepreneur Christian Dreyer, who retired two years later for professional reasons. The Goldegger restaurateur took over again in Salzburg.
Debacle in the 2023 state election
In 2018, Schellhorn successfully led the party to its first Salzburg state election, but the headquarters he sought in the state government – apparently at the instigation of the ÖVP Economic Association – was subsequently denied to him. The NEOS was the first national group to move into a state government, but the state councilor in the black and green pink coalition became Andrea Klambauer. Schellhorn retained his mandate in the National Council until he made all political functions in mid -2021 and Klambauer also took over the party chair in Salzburg.
In the 2023 state election, it set a debacle for the NEOS, which had to say goodbye to the state government and state parliament after five years. The consequence of this was the resignation of the entire national team. The leadership was taken over by the Federal Party until the previously unknown Lisa Aldali was elected state spokeswoman in October 2023. After a little more than a year, she covered this function again this year in January, which is why a choice was now necessary. (APA)
