Sanu is mostly left now – Personal views

Incredible student energy, such a vispreneous and lucid organization, the impressive gatherings across Serbia, and perociaritudes, the greatest unity of the Faculty and Scientists from the Institute, the extraordinary support of the University of Belgrade, Junačko posture of Rector and many decans. All this, heroism of a large number of medium and primary school teachers.

The list must include support for writers, musicians, actors, almost all thinking citizens of Serbia.

Who in this enumeration is insufficiently missing? Yes, I don’t have to know how long and deeply to think. There is no Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts. Our leading academic institution from these magnificent events will also enter history and become its part. But with one big « however ». True, members of SANU members were present in the protests. The impression is acquired that members of natural and technical departments have been introduced.

But if a pair of shy statements, as an institution, the SANU has been generally existed.

A little weird. On one side of student protests as something most wonderful and cleanest against the bare dictatorship and autocracy mixed with corruption and crime.

On the other side of the academic institution with members who were chosen as the best in their scientific, teaching and artistic areas. Sounds amazing, but there wasn’t an interaction.

From the leaders of San there is no stronger word praise, no support, let alone some more visible joint activities.

The Rectorate of the University of Belgrade and its President will be expected to encourage the Presidency of San and its President, to hold on to the Students with a flag of freedom and democracy. However, nothing, or almost anything! Blinds on the windows of the luxury cabinets of the building in Knez Mihailova Street remained down.

Who knows how many times we heard from the official of the Academy that this institution « does not deal with daily politics ». But there is no daily-political event here.

Atleast, it’s already a five-month event. The whole country was moved from the bearing. Something so hard happens, almost explosive. And the most exclusive right in one’s own yard.

Theoretically, if there is no support to students and colleagues, professors of college and medium and primary school teachers, could be thought or concluded that sympathies on the other side.

If I were sure that I wouldn’t choose the words in this text. I do it because I’m sure the reasons for some others. I leave the readers to this text to try to find the solution to this enigma.
