The State Agency for National Security (SANS) has been involved in Bulgaria by dozens of foreigners who have acted in the service of Russian intelligence. This is evident from the report of the agency submitted to the National Assembly.

- the deteriorating financial status of coal companies and the lack of results of policies to create alternative employment in the coal industry regions;
- the delay of projects for the development of transport connectivity, for repair and modernization of rail and automotive infrastructure;
- the possibility of new epidemics, facilitated by the increasing mobility of people and the lack of immunization of a growing share of the population living in conflict regions;
- the increasing antimicrobial resistance caused by the frequent use of antibiotics and severely limiting treatment options;
- The tendency to increase the deficit of medical staff, especially in state and municipal hospitals;
- the periodic lack of important and expensive commercial drugs due to logistics problems, parallel export schemes, increasing consumption;

- air and water pollution in individual regions;
- the delayed introduction of the principles of the circular economy in the use of waste, leading to premature filling of the capacity of regional landfills;

On average on a working day in 2024, the SANS bodies were examined by 1111 persons and 5.84 transactions and were carried out under 5.24 competence inspections, the report said.
