Salmonella eggs are contaminated in the garden, not by supplier

The National Food Authority announces that the samples obtained in Garden no. 1 gram have proved positive with salmonella. After complete traceability verifications and laboratory analysis, the AKU confirms that the eggs supplied to this garden by the manufacturer and the supply subject have been negative with salmonella. According to the AKU, the bird farm, where the eggs are produced, was tested in May 2025 and no signs of salmonella were found, stressing that the birds are healthy and the egg product is safe for consumption. AKU explains that egg contamination in garden no. 1 gram is caused by other factors that are not related to the food product, but to the garden premises.

AKU notice

Concerning the situation in the garden no. 1, in the city of Gramsh we explain public opinion that the National Food Authority after official traceability verifications for the egg product confirms: samples obtained in the egg manufacturing subject have been negative for the SPP salmonella indicator. Also from communicating with the regional veterinary service near the AKU it has been announced that the bird farm was tested during May 2025 for salmonelosis, the result of which was negative (healthy bird). Samples obtained in the subject supplied by the manufacturer and at the same time supplier of kindergarten no. 1 grams have been negative for the SPP salmonella indicator. Samples obtained in the Subject Garden no. 1 Gramsh result in the presence of SPP salmonella.

From this information received up to this moment it is thought that the contamination of eggs in the Gramsh garden has occurred in the garden premises No.1 Gramsh by other non -food factors (not eggs). It is worth noting that from communicating with the KCC units we have not had other problems with SPP salmonella, for whom we are in constant inter-institutional communication.

On the other hand, posts distributed on certain social networks other than this official announcement of the NFA are incorrect and in themselves constitute public misinformation. This is because the comments on the event and the results of the analysis in question cannot be stopped only in commenting on the analysis of the kindergarten samples no. 1 Gramsh, subject to the event.

Pursuant to Law no. 9863 “On food” (as amended), DCM 760, dated 16.09.2015 “On tracking and animal feed requirements along the food chain” specifies traceability processes for cases where the food product turns out to be harmful.

Anyone who feels the need for comments in such cases should be pending as long as the traceability process and the respective analysis have not emerged for all the links of the traceability process, which passes from the subject of the event to the supplier and to the manufacturer. It should be borne in mind that in the future anyone who will make irresponsible or inaccurate statements may be the subject of criminal proceedings.

The analyzes confirmed under this public information to the NFA regarding the negative results for SPP salmonella to the manufacturing entity and the supply entity highlight the inaccuracy of certain posts on social networks. In accordance with the legal obligation, with its direct engagement and in cooperation with other institutions, the NFA will remain in continuing communication.
