Sales of used cars in April grew by March by almost 14%

The market for used machines grows against the background of seasonal demand and price reduction. In April, sales spurred a flexible policy of pricing dealers and the accelerating market of new cars. But it will be difficult to hold the pace in May, experts and dealers say: primarily due to the large number of festive it.

Sales of cars with used cars in April grew relative to March by 13.7%, to 509.67 thousand pieces, calculated in Avtostat. In annual terms, a slight positive dynamics is also recorded – 0.03%. The general director of the agency Sergei Tselikov connects the results mainly with the factor in seasonality. “If you look at the year, April is always one of the best months,” he recalls. Maxim Kadakov, editor -in -chief of the magazine behind the wheel, adds that the rather modest indicators of March probably affected the dynamics: part of the demand passed the next month. The market of new cars also influenced, which grew by March by 28% (See “Kommersant” from May 7). “Most of those who bought a new car are selling the old one,” Mr. Tselikov explains.

It stimulated sales and reduction of prices, the analysts and participants of the industry surveyed by Kommersant noted. According to Avtostat, the average cost of mileage in April in April decreased by 0.6%, or 9.5 thousand rubles, to 1.47 million rubles by a year. According to the expert of the company « Ayler Analytical Technologies » by Vladimir Bespalov, a certain impact on the revision of the price tags in the segment of imported vehicles with a mileage could be reinforced by the ruble. Vadim Chernousov also notes the head of the Rolf vehicle, also notes a decrease in the average cost of transactions.

Roman Titov, deputy general director in the direction of car Avilon, indicates dumping by sellers, clarifying that this factor became one of the main drivers of revitalization of demand.

Deilers try to sell cars at minimal market prices, adds a top manager to get rid of warehouses. The director of the Avtodom Group of Companies and the Avtopetszenter Group of Companies and the Avtopetsentr Group of Companies and the Avtopetsentr Group of Companies, Andrei Grishakov, also talks about a more flexible policy of pricing in April. “If someone needs to sell a car, then you need to do it faster. Then you will sell it cheaper, ”says Mr. Tselikov.

According to Avtostat, the Sales of LADA – a permanent leader in the mileage machine – in April, relatively March grew by 11.5%, to 135.26 thousand units. In second place is the Japanese Toyota, the implementation of which the month has increased by 13.8%by a month, to 49.62 thousand pieces. The South Korean KIA is closed with a result of 27.89 thousand pieces, which is 17.1% better than Marta. Following are Hyundai and Nissan, the sales of which grew in monthly terms by 16.6%, to 27.16 thousand units, and 12.9%, to 21.83 thousand units. In the first ten, all brands show growth in relation to March – at least 10%, clarify the agency. But a year by a year positive dynamics is observed only in LADA. The most “sag” Nissan is minus 9.3%. The most popular models in the car market in April, according to the agency, were Lada 2107, Lada 2114 Samara-2, Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris and Lada 4×4.

Andrei Grishakov classifies the growth of the average indicators of age and the run of cars in almost all segments to the secondary markets. And Mr. Titov fixes a slight increase in the share of used machines imported according to the scheme of parallel imports. “The assortment of the secondary market is still in high demand, especially taking into account the fact that it is regularly replenished by foreign cars of the gone brands,” adds the commercial director of Fresh Evgeny Zhitnykhin.

According to the results of four months of the year, sales of passenger cars with mileage increased by 2.3% a year by the year, to 1.78 million pieces. However, the participants in the industry and experts of the market prospects are not evaluated by especially positively.

A high key rate holds back purchases, the interlocutors of Kommersant agree. According to Sergei Tselikov, the average rate on loans of new machines is about 13.5% thanks to subsidizing programs from manufacturers, and in used – about 26.5%. “The volume of lending in the mileage fell sharply,” he notes.

The opinions of market participants regarding the secondary market in May diverge, but most are waiting for a fall in sales due to long holidays. According to Rolf’s forecast, the segment is expected to reduce the implementation by 5-10% relative to April. Vladimir Bespalov, Sergey Tselikov and Maxim Kadakov also predict negative dynamics, without specifying absolute numbers. Avilon believes that in May the market will remain at the level of April. Mr. Grishakov is most optimistic, according to which, a low growth of the secondary market is likely.
