Safety on work, another 650 million to finance prevention in businesses

Others « 650 million euros to improve safety on work ». Premier Meloni said this at the end of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, convened to discuss the decree of 1 May, which thus brings a dowry of over 1.2 billion euros, all in function of safety at work. The « new » 650 million, recovered by the Government with Inail, are added to the 600 million already available for the calls of the National Institute for insurance against accidents and intended to co -finance the investments of companies in these areas.

«Even on work at work there is still a lot to do: in the last few days we have recorded new victims and new accidents. You cannot die like this and I want to express my condolence and my closeness to the families of
victims, « said Meloni. «I am however aware that the condolence is not enough and we must continue to act: in the face of this phenomenon, as President Mattarella said, they are not tolerable indifference
and resignation ». The government intends to dedicate resources to the training of workers, « not only by strengthening the knowledge of these issues, of these subjects among young people, but also making the INAIL insurance structural for students and teachers that this government introduced in 2023 », concluded Meloni.
As announced by the Minister for European Affairs Tommaso Foti, the Government will meet the unions on Thursday 8 May for a confrontation on safety at work.
The other points discussed on CDM
Among the other points on the agenda, the examination of a decree law with further urgent provisions to face the flood in the territories of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany and Marche and the effects of the Bradisisian phenomenon in the Campi Flegrei area, as well as financial provisions on civil protection; a bill with provisions on informed consent in the school field; and a bill with provisions regarding the protection of teaching staff of the school and school managers. The CDM meeting lasted over an hour.
